Do this with a grown-up. Food colour can stain, so wear old clothes and work on a tray.
🧰 You need
- 🥛3 clear cups
- 🧻paper towels
- 🔴red food colour
- 🔵blue food colour
- 💧water
👣 Let’s do it
- 1Put 3 cups in a row. Fill the first and the last with water.
- 2Colour the first cup red and the last cup blue.
- 3Fold two paper towel strips into long ribbons.
- 4Put each ribbon between cups, one end in each cup.
- 5Wait and watch the colours climb!
👀 What will you see?
The water climbs up the paper and the middle cup turns purple.
