Sink or Float?

Do this with a grown-up. Wipe up spills so nobody slips. Water play is always with a grown-up near.

🧰 You need

  • 🥣a big bowl of water
  • 🍎an apple
  • 🪨a small stone
  • 🧽a sponge
  • 🥄a spoon
  • 🧸a plastic toy

👣 Let’s do it

  1. 1Fill the bowl with water.
  2. 2Pick one thing and guess: will it sink or float?
  3. 3Gently put it in the water.
  4. 4Sort things into a SINK pile and a FLOAT pile.
  5. 5Try again with something new!

👀 What will you see?

Some things stay on top and some drop to the bottom.
